From Emily's point of view
Lucas didn't cling to me this day like he used to. He was busy playing alone in his room.
I figured that children did need their own space, too, so I didn't disturb him.
When Lucas was fast asleep at night, I checked my phone and looked through the messages.
Two of them were from Sandy.
She said, "Emily, I went to see Darren. He's okay. He didn't get hurt. Everything's alright."
