Chapter 10
Liam
"He is here," Ethan said entering my office.
"Took him so long, bring him in," I said as I closed my laptop, two minutes later Ethan came in with the guy I hired to help me find information about Laura Davis.
"Sit down," I said gesturing at the chair and he took his seat, Ethan sat on the other chair beside him.
"I got what you want," he said dropping a brown envelope on my table, but I shook my head.
"I want to hear it from you," I said and he nodded.
"Her full name is Laura Scarlett Davis, she is twenty-five, she used to live with her parents but recently neighbors said they saw her leaving with her luggage.
"According to them, they are not 100% sure she is their child because they treated her like their maid,"
"She used to work at a restaurant and the manager of the restaurant said she quit her job sometime a week ago.
"According to her colleagues at work, she has a boyfriend but they are not sure if they are still together because even after she quit her job he still comes searching for her at the restaurant,"
"Who is he?" I asked caressing the brown envelope.
"Jack Harris, he is quite accomplished and influential in Canada, I found his house and tried to get information out of his employees but they were tight-lipped,"
"I see," I said.
"I visited her parents and they didn't say anything until I gave them a huge sum of money, they said she is a badly behaved girl, a harlot and after breaking up with her boyfriend who loves her a lot, she ran away with his money,"
"They believe her best friend was in on it and I tried to get the best friend's address out of them but they were not able to provide it,"
"A harlot, definitely not," I said smiling.
"I was unable to find her best friend's place, which is now irrelevant because Laura Davis was last sighted at the airport boarding a flight here,"
"You mean she might be here in New York City?"
"She is here in NYC, I'm sure," he said nodding.
"You are sure? How sure?" I said, getting agitated.
"100%, my sources at the airports are 100% tested and trusted,"
"Okay then, I'll review this information you brought," I said.
"Payment?"
"He will settle you," I said nodding towards Ethan, I dismissed him and he left with Ethan.
The fact that Laura Davis is in New York City made my head spin, not from a headache but desire, she was closer than I'd imagined and I could finally find her and have another taste, that way I might be satisfied.
Ethan came back inside my office about twenty minutes after they left.
"Is it worth all this trouble?" He asked and I glared at him.
"Don't look at me like that, you just spent half a million dollars just to find a lady,"
"It is worth it Ethan, as far as I get her in my bed again, you know I always get what I want,"
"Are you sure you are not smitten?"
"No, I just need that girl in my bed one more time," I replied and he nodded.
"Okay then, the representatives are here to sign the contract for The Divinity Garden Project,"
"Can't we just change that name?"
"I'm afraid we can't, we don't have the rights to," he said making me shake my head.
"When is the meeting?" I asked checking the time.
"Twenty minutes from now," he said.
"Good, let's get it over with," I said wearily.
"Liam" he called seriously.
"What?"
"Don't ask them to change the project's name," he said and I rolled my eyes.
Thirty minutes later we signed the contract finalizing everything, I held a meeting with my employees then I left the office immediately after that.
"Have you found a doctor yet?" Ethan asked as we moved outside.
"Not yet, I'll start searching soon,"
"Sometimes I feel like I'm more your mother's son than you are," he said and I pushed him playfully.
"I found a good doctor, there are a lot of good reviews about him," he said as we stopped at the car park
"That's good, when would he start the treatment?"
"As soon as she gets here, whenever she is ready,"
"Thanks, man," I said and he nodded.
I entered my car and I drove home, heading straight to my room to take a nap.
Unfortunately, I was unable to sleep due to the same reason I've been unable to have a good night's sleep for over a week now.
"Those blasted whiskey eyes," I said as I sat up.
I've not been able to get her eyes out of my head, they've been haunting me at night and troubling me during the day, if only she could just appear before me right now and let me have my way.
I groaned at my thoughts and picked up my phone, I searched for how to fall asleep quickly, every method I saw looked stressful until it got to the food part, I decided to take Tart Cherie juice after scrolling through foods that aid sleeping.
I called Maria to request a glass of Tart Cherie juice, telling her to make it chill.
"Sir," she called as I was about to hang up.
"Yes?"
"We have a new replacement for Darcy, should I bring her in for assessment?"
"Sure," I said then I hung up.
I took my time thinking about Laura, her eyes, her hair, her body
I thought about her walking into my room and she was there, I shook my head to clear my thoughts but she was still there, with a glass of juice on a tray, Maria came in behind her making me realize she was there and it was not me conjuring her up.
"Good evening sir," Maria said collecting the tray from her and placing it beside me on the bed.
"This is Darcy's replacement," she said and my mouth almost dropped open.
