Chapter 78: Your Mail, My House
My mom yelled from the kitchen, "Aria Jane Green!"
The yell scared me. I nearly dropped my things on the ground. I knew I was in trouble. She never used my middle name. I knew middle names were only created so parents could alert their offspring that they were in serious trouble.
I walked into the kitchen where my mom was standing. She had a few papers in front of her on the countertop.
"What?" I asked, genuinely confused. I was rarely in trouble.
"Don't 'what' me. Do you think I wouldn't find out?" she asked. I could hear her tapping her foot. She always did that when she got annoyed.
"Find out about what?" I could hear the tone in my voice start to shift. I hated it when she did this.
'Just tell me what the problem is.' She held up a piece of paper. As I get closer to it, I saw it was an offer letter.
"I got in?" I whispered to myself.
The shock radiated through me. I wanted to be happy at that moment, which was hard when getting yelled at.
