Chapter 32: No Forgiveness Here
I wasn't sure how or why, but Hannah's minor blowup at Lucas flipped a switch. After school, Lucas and Chase approached me while I was reading one of my books. My eyes may have widened more than I would have liked to give away. Chase was standing in front of me, softer than usual but not completely unguarded. He pushed his hair back, and Luke cleared his throat.
"So, I know you two aren't on the best terms right now," he said. Chase scoffed, and I waited for him to continue.
"Dude this has nothing to do with you," Chase said calmly. Luke doesn't react and continues as if Chase didn't say a word. I liked that in a person.
"But honestly, this needs to be put behind you both. It's time to talk it out. The rumors are getting out of control. I'm into drama, but this is too much now. Deal with it." Luke started to walk away before he even finished his sentence, leaving Chase standing in front of me in silence.
