Chapter 23: A Good Impression
"Mom! Have you seen my orange sweater?" I shouted from my closet. I heard nothing.
"Mom!" I shouted. I had a pair of skinny black jeans on and was in a white lace camisole. The orange sweater would look cute, and I knew she had been wearing my sweaters to work lately.
"It's in the laundry room!" she shouted. I took off down the stairs.
Mom already had the tablecloths on the dining room table and another pop-up table in the backyard under the canopy. The TV was on playing the parade. It was just breezy enough outside to need a sweater but perfect for eating and mingling outside.
I made it to the laundry room and found my orange sweater in a ball on the dryer. Ugh. I could still make this work. I shook it out and took the iron to it swiftly. It ended up being very warm.
"Okay, Aria. Grandma and Aunt Clary will be here in five minutes," she said, trying to get her earring studs on but failing miserably. "The turkey will be done in fifteen minutes. If you could help me keep the b
