Chapter 23 Sharing the Same Bed
Not long after, Serena heard some sounds from the bathroom. She quickly closed the magazine she was holding and placed it on the nightstand, then slowly lay down.
Her body sank into the soft bed, but she remained as stiff as a statue. Only her long lashes trembled slightly, betraying her nervousness.
A faint smile spread across Harrison's lips when he stepped out of the bathroom and saw her in this state. Without a word, he raised his hand and lightly pressed the switch, turning off the room's lights individually.
Serena lay on her side, too afraid to move. She even deliberately slowed her breathing, fearful of disturbing the stillness.
But her ears remained attuned to the sounds in the room.
After a brief silence, the other side of the bed sank slightly, accompanied by a cool breeze and the faint scent of body wash.
Serena's body tensed further, and her heartbeat quickened.
Harrison could naturally sense her unease. He knew she wasn't used to it yet, but he said nothing.
