Damian I hadn't expected that gesture from her, and my body shook a bit. I immediately withdrew my hands and she looked at me with shock visible on her face. “Sorry.” We both said simultaneously and I immediately took my eyes off her. Charlotte on the other hand allowed her gaze to roam over everything in the room but me. “I think I should leave then.” I told her and took a step back. “Right. Yes. You should leave.” She told me and I nodded. The rest of the day passed in a blur, and we only spoke again when I brought her lunch. “Thank you.” She smiled at me. “You are welcome.” I replied. I was ecstatic when the days came to an end. At least, I would be able to stop being so grumpy all around.
