“I’ve got her location,” he said as soon as I answered. “Her phone is pinging near the waterfront, about ten miles from your apartment. It’s not moving, so she might be stationary.”
The waterfront? What the hell was she doing there?
“Send me the coordinates,” I said, already pulling out of the garage.
“I’ll text them to you now. Should I send a team?”
“No,” I said quickly. “Not yet. I’ll go myself. Just keep tracking her phone and let me know if anything changes.”
George hesitated for a moment. “Understood, sir. I’ll keep monitoring.”
I ended the call and sped down the street, weaving through traffic with barely a glance at the other cars. My mind was racing with worst-case scenarios. What if Lorraine had said something to her? What if Charlotte was upset—really upset—and had gone somewhere to be alone?
Or worse, what if something had happened to her?
I gripped the wheel tighter, pushing those thoughts away. No. She was fine. She had to be fine.
