"Never judge a book by its cover," they say, but I was very much tempted to judge that sleeve’s bag, Jonathan. For the past few days, Richard and I hadn't stepped out of my apartment, mainly because reporters were swarming everywhere. Even though I knew he didn’t want to be there, there was no quiet, no peace—just an incessant barrage of noise. The office had become a terrible place, with reporters staging stakeouts outside, refusing to leave, and bombarding us with questions.
So here I was, waiting on Alex and waiting for everything to settle. With everything you had already told me, I knew the situation was serious, but I couldn’t help myself. At some point, I pulled out my phone and began texting him.
"I have an idea," I texted Alex, who quickly responded with, "What’s the idea?"
"So usually, there’s this thing about the fool and his money," I typed back, "What are you getting at?"
Alex replied, "Dude, I don’t like this tension. You know I don’t. What are you thinking?"
