Chapter 148: Think twice

It was an old townhouse, exuding gothic energy. I smiled, feeling nostalgic as memories of my high school days came rushing back. It felt as though abandoned houses like this were the highlight of my existence. If only I could return to those simpler times. I marched up the stairs, curious whether the house would still be operational. The hospital is still there, my sister had texted. It’s just not as important as it was before. It might be a bit run down right now; I saw pictures of it online. The photos didn’t quite match the state of the house in person. Falling plaster and crumbling brickwork made me wonder if it would even hold my weight.
Once I reached the door, I hesitated, wondering if it would hold up or if it might break. I knocked, and as usual, a moment later a woman dressed in gray answered the door.
“Please come inside,” she said. The outside was one story; the inside was another story entirely. To say the least, it didn’t look as though everything was falling
