Lucas chuckled. "Let him have his moment. Given his luck in love, let's allow him some victories at the card table, huh?"
"That's not necessarily how it's going to be," Alwyn said. "Who's to say Xander won't meet the girl of his dreams tomorrow?"
"The day Xander meets his dream girl is the day I've heard the funniest joke in years." Lucas chuckled, clearly amused.
Alwyn raised an eyebrow. "Well, you never know. Wasn't it just the other day you were telling us there wasn't anyone special for you? And look at you now."
"Ah, but I'm not Xander. I don't just sit around waiting for things to happen," Lucas responded.
"Tomorrow is another day. Who can really say what it brings?" Alwyn said.
"Why don't bet on it?" Lucas replied.
"What are we betting on?" Alwyn was already intrigued.
"Should we get Ron in on this?" Lucas glanc
