Bloom stared at the doctor’s report on her sister. She was diagnosed with lung cancer. Her eyes welled up in tears as she read the paper over and over again. Her fingers curled up into a tight fist, rumpling the perfectly neat paper at its edges. She folded her legs to her chest, burying her face into the crook of her arm as she sobbed loudly. This was unfair, to her little sister. Her phone tinged and she quickly grab hoping it was a positive response from the loan apps.
