Chapter 2 GOING WHERE FATE TAKES

MIA POV: "Principessa (Princesses), wake up. We will be late for the flight. " I heard someone disturbing me from my beauty sleep. Why can no one let me sleep peacefully? " I know you are awake. Now be a good baby girl and start getting ready if you don't want to go to the town looking like a Shrek." He again spoke, making me awake completely after saying the last word. " daddy. You know how much I hate being called Shrek. " I said, making an angry pout to show I didn't like how he waked me at all. "Aw princesses, how much I love to see this annoying awake face more than the sleeping Shrek face," he said smirking. "' Dad….." I yelled or more like whined on hearing him say that. "Okay. I won't tease you any more. Get ready soon. I am putting all the suitcases in the car. We must leave in thirty minutes." he said, smiling. I can do anything to keep that smile on his face. I love him so much. "Now start moving. Or don't say I called you names," he said again. "Okay. But I won't leave without my coffee." I said, as without coffee I can't wake up clearly. My morning starts with coffee. Oh, I forgot to introduce myself in all this hazard. I am Mia, Massimo. The only daughter of my parents. My mother passed away after giving me life. I miss her but never in daddy's presence. He is my life. He never made me feel incomplete in any way. My superhero. If things like superpower existed, which don't. But if they did, then my daddy is superman. He can do anything and still protect me side by side from everything. I heard my phone ring and knew whose call it was. I only have three contacts on my phone with this tone. Daddy, Nonna (grandmother), and Lea. My best friend less, sister more. She is the light in my boring, dull life. The rule breaker. "Buon giorno (Good morning)." I said answering the call. "Mattina (Morning). Seem like our sleeping beauty is already awake," she said in her usual friendly tone. "Yeah. Daddy just woke me," I replied. "Good Piccolo (babe). Now get ready, or we will be late," she said, becoming the older sister. "I will if you let me. Bye. See you soon." I said, knowing I had so little time to get ready. "See you soon. Piccolo (babe)," she said and hanged up the call. Who knew she would be so excited to go with us. It's all because of her so busy parents. They think giving money is all a kid wants. But I am happy, at least I am with her. I need to stop thinking about all this and start getting ready. Each day is important, as I don't want to mess up this golden chance to visit my Nonna (Grandmother). It's been years since I went there. My father's hometown. I am coming for my childhood memories. It's time to explore nature. Far away from all these artificial things, artificial people. I love plants, animals and nice people. And just the idea of getting good pictures makes me so happy. "Hurry up, Principessa (Princesses)". I heard daddy call me from downstairs. I got to run and do things. See you Nonna (Grandmother) soon. "Looking fresh like always, Principessa (Princesses)" Daddy said entering my room. "You look dashing papà (daddy)" I said, smiling, giving him a warm hug. The best thing to do ever. This is how my day starts. I have very few people in my life. But they make it very special. I am so happy to live my life, even sometimes my Daddy feels sad for me not having a mum. I put on my seat belt while papà (daddy) started driving the car. I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket. I took it out to check whose text message was it. And it was none other than my one and only troublemaker friend, Lea. "I am ready. Meet you soon. (wink emoji)." She never fails to brighten someone's day. It's not like I am boring. But I can never be fun like her. Maybe because she loves to break all the rules and live her life according to her taste. And that's what I love most about her. She is fearless and fun-loving. "Look at your monkey friend. She is ready to jump two squares far into the car." papà (daddy) said, taking my attention. "papà (daddy). Don't call her that. She is my only friend." I said whining like a five-year-old, which I love to become in front of people I love. Because I am a kid at heart, and especially when the comes to courage. I am such a scaredy-cat. "But look at her jumping. You only need to give her bananas, and she might even leave you after dancing happily." Daddy replied. "papà (daddy)," I said again louder, making a pout. One day, he will make me lose the only best friend I have. "Look at this koala taking the side of her monkey friend," he said chuckling while stopping the car in front of her house. His servant put her things in the trunk while I also got out of the car and met with her strong hug. We both sat in the back seat, knowing how much we will annoy papà (daddy) the whole ride.
