Tension filled the courtroom as Mateo took his seat, his eyes scanning the faces of the jury as they filed in. His fate rested in their hands, and the gravity of the situation weighed heavily on his shoulders.
The prosecutor, a seasoned lawyer with a sharp mind and quick wit, paced back and forth, a wolf circling its prey. Rumors had it that she had a thing against the upper class and was determined to prove Mateo's guilt and secure a conviction.
Mateo noticed Isabella walk into the court room and she waved discreetly at him, shooting him an encouraging smile.
His lips curled up slightly and he schooled his expression immediately, and turned to Mark - who was an epitome of calmness as he watched the proceedings with a steely gaze, ready to defend his client with everything he had.
" You are sure you can handle this, right?" He asked, his gaze moving to the prosecutor on the other side of the room.
