At that signal, a hush fell over the room once more. And in the silence, a rustle of fabric and the clicking of heels could be heard as Marisol and Abuela made their entrance, the older woman's arm linked through Marisol's as they walked steadily toward the altar.
Alvarez's eyes widened, his mouth falling open in shock.
"Marisol?" Alvarez whispered, his voice shaking with disbelief. "Marisol, is that you?"
Marisol stepped forward, her gaze burning with righteous anger. "Yes, it's me. The woman you tried to kill, the woman you thought you had buried. And I'm here to tell everyone the truth."
