TAKE IT SLOWLY

"Do you know how to cook?" Alex asked in a low voice. "Yes. Just a little," she replied. "Well, that's better than nothing." He looked at her intently, "Because I don't know how to cook." They are already finished eating when Diane excuses herself to go to the washroom. "I just need to use the washroom for a couple of minutes." "Alright, go ahead." She stood up and went to the washroom. As soon as she entered inside, she called Margie. Margie finally answered after three rings. "Hello, Margie. Are you still sleeping?" Diane asked. "No, I just woke up. What's up? Is your shift done?" "No, I am not at work. I was fired," she said in a very low voice,? "What? How did that happen?" Margie shouted in the other line.? She hasn't answered yet but Margie asked another question. "What happened?" Even if she cannot see Margie, she knows that her friend's eyes have already widened. "It's a long story, my friend. But I might be dropping by there shortly and get my things." This is not easy for her. She's been with Margie since the very start in this place. She doesn't know how her life would be. But she cannot back out anymore. "Margie, I am going to give you the money equivalent to our 2 month's pay in the apartment.? Hopefully, by the time that's up, you already found someone you can share the bill with," she said. "By the way, just in case you already left and we won't be seeing each other when I go there. I will leave the money in the drawer of our dressing table. "Okay," she simply responded. She can feel that Margie is just forced to say okay but knowing her friend, she has a lot of questions for her. She feels bad that she needs to leave her. If only she can take her with her, but she can't. She let out a deep sigh. "Don't worry when I get some free time, I will also visit you at work." she added to somehow comfort her friend before she ends the conversation. As soon as the call ended, she left the washroom. The man she's with seems to be so bored while waiting for her to come out of the washroom. She saw the man talking on his cellphone but when he saw her coming, he quickly ended the call and put his phone inside his pocket. "I'm sorry if I took too long in the washroom." She apologized to the man. "That's okay. No need to say sorry. Anything else you need to do or shall we go?" he said as he stared at her waiting for her answer. After a couple of minutes, they got out of the restaurant and went straight to the car park just in front of it. In less than an hour, they finally arrived at her apartment. Finding a parking lot has been difficult for them since she is just renting an apartment in a cheap place. Most of the residents here simply go by bus or train on their way to their work in the city. You can count those houses with a car. They primarily park their cars in a vacant lot behind the building. "Do you want me to come with you?" Alex asked. "No, I should be fine. I just have a little stuff. They fit in one trolley bag."? Well, her husband has been a gentleman since earlier. She smiled in her mind. "Alright, just give me a ring if you need my help then. I will wait for you here," he said and didn't get out of the car. "Sure, I will. Thank you." She got down and stepped towards the lift and quickly went to their apartment. "Margie?" she called her friend.? "Margie?" she called again. No one answered. She looked around and her friend wasn't there anymore.? For sure she already left for work. She started to get her things and put them inside the trolley bag. She's almost done packing her things when her cellphone rang.? It was from an unregistered number again. She frowned. Should she answer it? Well, she chose to press the answer button. "Hello?" "Ah, I just thought that if you will be going down and ready, just give me a call on this number. You don't need to walk into the parking lot. I can pick you up in front of your apartment building," the man said on the other line. "Uh, okay." Then, the call ended. Her eyebrow rose. Well, the man who's the reason why she got fired earlier is now acting so helpful and gentlemanly towards her. Wow, maybe because they are already married. Well, they need to be at least good to each other since they will be together for 2 years. She's finally done packing all her stuff.? She walked to the dressing table and opened the drawer.? Then she put the money she mentioned to Margie to cover the 2 month rent of the apartment. Diane grabbed her bag and took her phone. She dialed the man's number to advise him she's ready to go. She came out of the elevator and the man was already in there and to her surprise, he got down of the car and took the bag that she's holding and put it behind the car. Few of her neighbors are looking at them. Well, since early this morning, she seems to be immune with all the eyes on them. Not because of her but the man behind her always catches the attention of the crowd. He is handsome and again, he can be a model or an actor. "This is your room, next to the room that I am occupying." Alejandro guided Diane to the room she will be using from now on. "Go and take a rest. This has been a long day for both of us. We will just be ordering food for dinner, is that okay with you?" he asked her. "Well, I don't have any food in the house since I was just living alone." He let out a deep sigh. It's obvious that he is so tired of all the things that they need today. "Tomorrow, we need to go out and buy our groceries. I know you have a lot of things that are running inside your mind and wanting to ask me. Let's take this slow. We have a lot of time to get to know each other. 2 long years with me," he chuckled and added, "Just trust me okay, I am a harmless person." With all the things that Alex said, she just nodded and took her bag inside the room. She doesn't have any energy anymore. She went inside to take some rest before having dinner. She badly needs that. She wants to recharge her body and mind so she is ready for anything that will happen when she faces the man again later.? She felt so drained. Has she gone mad? In just 24 hours, she is already married. She was just looking for a part-time job and not a husband! Well, there's no way to back out anymore. As soon as she entered the bedroom she saw the queen size bed. Well, the room isn't that large but just enough for her to feel comfortable. The bedroom is almost in white. No decorations; just a plain empty wall. She looked around and started to talk to herself again. "Well, I didn't enter this room yesterday. I only cleaned the living room because Alex advised me to go home after our discussion with the deal." Well, she didn't clean the two bedrooms and even not, this room looks clean and there is no trace that it has been used before. She let out a deep sigh. This is where she will be staying for a long time. She looked around again. She has small lamps on both corners of her bed which she can turn on when she goes to sleep. There's a small dressing table and a wardrobe and she got her own bathroom door. She unpacked her things and put all of her clothes inside the wardrobe. She hopes that she can sleep tonight and won't look for the bed she used to have every night. After arranging her things, she went inside the washroom. She needs to take a shower. She needs to have a warm bath to relax her whole body and mind with the things that are happening in her life. She is like a female lead in a TV series. She giggled; she got a handsome leading man for that matter. She opened the shower and walked underneath it. "Woah! This is relaxing! I never felt this exhausted in my entire stay in this place. I can't think of anything properly." She closed her eyes and felt the warm temperature that touches her body. She stayed there for a long time.
