Three days later, Baxter cautiously approached Dillon, whose eyes were bloodshot. Ever since he handed him Estelle's death certificate two days ago, Dillon had barely moved, as if frozen in place.
He was clearly still hung up on Estelle.
"Are you okay?" Baxter asked softly.
Dillon snapped out of his daze. He lifted his head, staring at Baxter with red-rimmed eyes, as if trying to catch a lie in his expression.
Baxter sighed again. "It won't change anything if you deny it. Estelle is really gone, and I'm worried about you. Do you want to see her?" he asked.
"No need," Dillon rejected instinctively.
He thought of Estelle. If she knew Alison had come here, she probably wouldn't want to come back at all.
Seeing Dillon zoning out again, Baxter mustered his courage and shook his shoulder. "Come on. You've still got employees waiting for you to step up. Do you want Waverly Group to go bankrupt?"
