"Joseph, how long has it been since you stayed here? Why is there so much dust?" Samantha asked, frowning as she coughed.
As she spoke, Samantha forced herself to endure the discomfort and walked deeper inside to open every window.
There was no other way. If she didn't air it out, no one could stay here.
She wondered how many years Joseph had neglected the place for it to get this dusty.
Joseph let out an awkward laugh. He grabbed a broom and mop by the entry and started cleaning.
"I think I finished decorating this place before we got married. After I covered the furniture with dust cloths, I never came back. If you hadn't wanted to rest right away, I wouldn't have remembered I owned it."
Samantha's lips twitched. She had no idea how to respond. He'd left this place unused for three years and all but forgotten about it. No wonder it was filled with dust.
