Seeing Samantha visibly upset as she entered, he feigned nonchalance. "Who made you so angry?"
She seemed more lively and relaxed now, much more so than when she was at the Lynch residence. It was clear that Xander truly cared for her and understood how to love her better than Joseph.
She thought about what had happened, and her cheeks flushed with embarrassment. She clenched her hands and looked down. "It's nothing, Mr. Lynch Senior. I just had a little argument with Xander."
Harold responded with a knowing "oh" and scrutinized Samantha. He was clearly skeptical of her explanation. "Really? Samantha, don't lie to me."
She nodded vigorously. "It's true."
