Sierra felt a warmth spread through her heart at Theo's words. "I know," she responded softly with a nod.
Seeing this, Madison let out a dramatic sigh and feigned sadness. "Looks like Mr. Gray has officially taken my place as the person who understands you best."
Sierra's face flushed slightly as she bit her lip. "Maddy, stop joking around. Has Cayden gone back yet?"
Madison glanced at the cold-faced man beside them, then leaned in and whispered into Sierra's ear, "Cayden got his wounds bandaged and wanted to stay until you woke up, but Mr. Gray chased him away with just one icy look.
"He said, 'I'll take care of my woman. There's no need for outsiders to interfere.' So Cayden had no choice but to leave. But Cee, did you hear that? He called you his woman."
Her eyes sparkled with mischief as she teased.
Sierra grabbed her hand, trying to keep her from getting too excited. "It was just a sentence. Don't overthink it. I feel really bad for dragging Cayden into this."
