Chapter 1762
Curiosity piqued within Hesper. She shared a substantial history with Nathaniel, one that made her doubt he would remember something she had said so long ago.
As if sensing her curiosity, Nathaniel smiled with a touch of pride, though his gaze lingered on Hesper's face for an extended moment. After a prolonged silence, he finally spoke, "Go home."
"Return to your bright future. What I have done cannot be undone."
At times, Nathaniel would ponder what might have transpired had he not harbored so many sinister plans. He would daydream about their childhood days when Hesper held his hand. Hesper was no longer the same person, and he had transformed as well.
How splendid it would be if time had frozen in that era? Back then, they knew nothing of hatred or deceit. But those were all "what-ifs," and they had become very different individuals.
