Hesper added, "I had a brief encounter with him before, but it was just a casual meeting." Veronica nodded. "I'll be going now," Hesper said while Sullivan looked at her with disappointment. This tugged at Veronica's heart, and she said, "Ms. Rivera, do you have urgent matters to attend to? Can you stay with us for a while?" Hesper was a bit surprised by Veronica's suggestion. If she stayed with them, it went without saying that she could get more information. However, she shook her head, "Not for now. My husband is waiting for me at home." She rejected Veronica's offer not only because Rickard would be worried about her but because of many unresolved mysteries surrounding the Simmons.
