For some reason, it felt somewhat eerie with the four of us standing at the reception desk on that winter night in Joddesdon-Saza.
Only Cindy seemed carefree and amused. When her almond-shaped eyes glanced over the takeout bag in Douglas's hand, she pretended to be surprised.
