That had been our first night, and I was the one who had taken the initiative.
It had happened at the end of the second semester of my third year at university. Bruce had moved out of the dorms and rented the house that I currently lived in.
I had found out about it from one of the girls in the business course. She had liked him for a long time, and, despite my painstaking attempts to stop them from meeting each other, she had gone over to help him on the day he had moved out.
She hadn't mentioned it to me explicitly, but it had felt like someone had slapped me across the face because I hadn't been there to help him, even though he had meant the world to me back then.
I had been so pissed that I had snuck in a bottle of beer to my dorm and started drinking. At first, I had hoped that I could drink my sorrow away, but the more I had drunk, the worse I had felt.
We had held hands and hugged each other before. Why had he not told me that he was moving out of the dorms?
