Miranda had dozed off.
When she woke, it was already dark outside.
"You've got some nerve, Ms. Jennings, to be able to sleep so soundly," came a man's mocking voice beside her.
Miranda looked at him coolly. "What else should I do? Cry the whole way?"
Crying wouldn't solve anything.
Ever since her father's death, she hadn't shed a single tear.
The man chuckled. "No wonder there's such a high bounty on your head, Ms. Jennings."
Miranda raised an eyebrow. So, she really was on someone's hit list.
"Where are we going?" she asked.
"You'll know when we get there."
"Well, I can't exactly escape, so telling me won't make a difference, will it?"
The man looked at her, "We're heading to Josova."
Miranda's expression shifted slightly.
They were planning to take her out of the country.
