Xavier remembered what Miranda had done to him that night.
"Miranda," he sneered coldly, stepping toward her, "I think you must be tired of living."
Miranda backed away.
Xavier moved closer.
She kept retreating until her back was against the edge of the door, leaving her with nowhere to go. With a hint of exasperation, she said, "Mr. Schneider, I admit I overstepped that night, but I didn't have much choice."
"Not much choice?" His gaze grew colder. "Binding my hands was a necessity, was it? Throwing water in my face was also necessary?"
Miranda stayed silent.
It had, in fact, been intentional.
