Yovanna lay in her hospital bed while watching a show on her tablet. Miranda sat beside her and fed her grapes. "I don't want them anymore." Miranda withdrew her hand and put the grape back on the plate. At first, Yovanna felt embarrassed about having Miranda take care of her. Yet, she had become used to it by now. Putting down her tablet, Yovanna turned to Miranda and said, "Ms. Jennings, Xavy is coming over later. Can you…" Miranda took the hint, smiled, and replied, "I'll head downstairs to buy something." These days, Yovanna would find excuses to drive her away before Xavier arrived. Miranda was more than happy to oblige—she wasn't interested in watching the two acting all lovey-dovey.
