Chapter 703
Upstairs, I took a shower and lay in bed, tossing and turning, unable to fall asleep. Logan hadn't come upstairs, so he was probably still talking with Jeremiah.
I didn't know how much time had passed before I finally drifted into a light sleep, only to be awakened by the soft click of the door opening.
I opened my eyes to see Logan walking in.
I called out in a low voice, "Logan…"
Logan looked slightly surprised and came over. "Are you not asleep yet?" As he spoke, he pulled me into his arms. I stretched lazily and wrapped my arms around his waist.
How comforting. His presence always felt so reassuring.
All the fear and anxiety I'd felt earlier vanished without a trace.
He silently stroked my hair, and his touch was gentle and soothing. But as the moments passed, I started to sense something was off about him.
