Seeing the tears welling up in my eyes, Mom helped me wipe them away with a pained smile. "Logan won't, Ari. Everybody's different."

As I was speaking to Mom, the housekeeper ran up in a panic.

Both Mom and I froze, not understanding what she was talking about.
The housekeeper panicked even more as she gestured toward downstairs.
