I rolled my eyes and said, "Oh, I didn't know you had a heart."
Jeremiah was momentarily stunned by my retort, then chuckled. "You really know how to kill the mood, don't you? Come on in."
He pressed a button on his remote, opening both the garage and main gate.
A few minutes later, I found myself seated in Jeremiah's spacious and impeccably designed living room.
His interior design was entirely different from mine. His was dominated by blacks and grays, with large expanses of stark white. The furnishings were sleek, modern, and abstract, full of sharp lines and avant-garde shapes.
I didn't really like it. This was the kind of design that looked great in magazines but was completely impractical for real life. Not to mention, it lacked warmth.
As I finished taking it all in, Jeremiah emerged from another room, having just washed up and changed. His face was still damp, which accentuated his sharp, handsome features.
