CHAPTER NINETY NINE – CORPORATE BREAKUP

Logan's face hardened. "Are you accusing me of corporate espionage? Deonna, I would never stoop that low. We won that contract fair and square." "Did you?" Deonna challenged, stepping closer. "Because from where I'm standing, it looks like you couldn't bear the thought of me succeeding without you. So you had to sabotage me, right?" Logan's eyes flashed with hurt and anger. "Is that really what you think of me? After everything we've been through? Deonna, I swear to you, I had nothing to do with any leak." For a moment, Deonna wavered. The sincerity in Logan's voice made her doubt her accusations. But the pain of the betrayal, the loss of the contract, it all came crashing down on her again. "I don't know what to believe anymore, Logan," she said, her voice breaking. "I thought I knew you. I thought I could trust you. But now..." Logan moved towards her, his hands outstretched.
