CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY FOUR - The Last Piece of the Puzzle
One evening, as they were preparing dinner in tense silence, the doorbell rang. Both of them froze, exchanging alarmed glances.
"I'll get it," Logan said firmly, motioning for Deonna to stay in the kitchen.
She heard muffled voices, then Logan returned, holding a small package. "It's from the security company," he explained, his voice tight. "New cameras for the hallway."
Deonna nodded, relief washing over her. But as Logan set the package down and turned away, something caught her eye. A corner of white paper, peeking out from beneath the box.
With trembling hands, she reached for it. Logan noticed her movement and spun around. "Dee, what—"
But it was too late. Deonna had already unfolded the paper, revealing a message that made her blood run cold:
"Cameras won't save you. I'm already inside."
The paper fluttered from her numb fingers as Logan rushed to her side. "What is it? What does it say?"
