CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SEVEN – UNCERTAINTY IN WORDS
Deonna remained silent, watching him struggle to find the right words. She could see the pain etched on his face, the weight of guilt pressing down on his shoulders.
"I was blind," Logan continued, his voice thick with emotion. "Blind to what Emma was doing, blind to how my actions were hurting you and Kayla. I let my pride, my family's expectations, and my own insecurities cloud my judgment. And in doing so, I nearly destroyed everything that truly matters."
He paused, swallowing hard before meeting Deonna's gaze. "I know I have no right to ask this, but... I want a second chance. Not just as Kayla's father, but with you, Deonna. I want to try to rebuild what we had, to be the man I should have been all along."
Deonna felt her heart constrict, a whirlwind of emotions threatening to overwhelm her. Part of her wanted to embrace Logan, to believe that they could recapture the love they once shared. But another part, the part that had been hurt so deeply, recoiled at the idea.
