Chapter 193
Aurora's voice sounded light yet indifferent. But there was an overwhelming sense of desolation and helplessness hidden within her words.
If her biological parents had truly wanted to find her, they would have left some kind of trace.
Aurora had investigated the hospital records. Every piece of evidence had been erased, leaving not even the faintest clue.
Later, perhaps out of a desire to let go, Aurora stopped her search altogether.
She was fine with the way things were. Being on her own gave her freedom. Adding some so-called familial ties might not necessarily be a good thing.
As Wendy watched Aurora's silent demeanor, she felt a sharp pain in her heart. Tears welled up in her eyes, and just as she was about to comfort Aurora, Aurora cut her off calmly.
"Mom, don't feel sad for me. You're my real mom. I'm all alone, and the only people I care about are you and Bash. As long as you're both doing well, I'm at peace."
Wendy broke into tears and couldn't help but hug Aurora tight
