After saying that, Sebastian turned and walked back into the law firm.
Rachel smiled. "Alright, I'll handle it."
After all, Angelina Lambert was still unmarried. Maybe she was still waiting for him.
Macy didn't dare speak, quietly following Roxanne. Roxanne walked aimlessly, not sure where to go.
After a while, Macy gently tugged at Roxanne's sleeve. "Rox."
Roxanne snapped, "What is it?"
Startled, Macy paused. She had seen it today. Roxanne had suffered with the Smith family all along. She had been enduring so much.
As a mother, how could she not feel heartbroken for her?
"Maybe we're just destined to be poor. Fine, if you want a divorce, then go ahead. I won't say anything anymore. Just don't be sad," Macy said softly.
Roxanne suddenly stopped in her tracks and turned to look at her.
Macy felt guilty. "Oh, it's all my fault. I got carried away by the temporary wealth—"
"Mom." Roxanne pulled her into a hug, her emotions finally breaking free.
"My poor girl." Macy patted her
