Chapter 28—
Lexie was struggling to so much as turn on the damn stove and when she finally did, the look on her face told Zheme that she didn't know what else should be done.
He felt the need to smirk, laugh even, but instead, he eased out of his seat and like a predator, stalked towards her.
In front of the stove and just an inch away from her, he stopped, eyebrows knitted in confusion as Lexie filled the pot with water, dropping it with resentment on the stove. "Mom always made this thing, if she can, then I can too." She miserably grumbled, yet determination was as hard as a rock in her voice.
Beside her, Zheme shook his head, turning down the stove. "At the rate at which you're going, you can't."
"I-I can."
"You can't Lexie, you seem like someone who has the potential to burn down my house, so therefore, I'll help."
