Before Emma could even react, Frank appeared out of nowhere and rushed over to catch Lea. His expression was cold and sharp as he turned to Emma, instinctively snapping at her. "Emma, did you learn nothing from your time abroad? You come back and immediately start bullying Lea?"
Emma watched this absurd scene unfold her ears buzzing with disbelief. She sneered, "So, you automatically assumed that I pushed her?"
Lea, still nestled in Frank's arms, played her role perfectly, looking frail and pitiful. "Frank, I'm sure Emma didn't mean it. She's still young and ignorant. Don't be angry with her."
"She's not a child anymore."
"I'm not a child."
Both of them spoke up in unison.
Frank's gaze swept over Emma. "So, you do understand that you're not a child anymore. Apologize to Lea."
A flicker of mockery flashed in Emma's eyes. At that moment, she was relieved that her past decision to leave had been the right one. Her eyes reddened, but her expression remained unreadable. "Apologize?
