Chapter 36
Steistan had countless universities, and for the moment, Frank couldn't pinpoint exactly where Emma was studying.
It had been ten days since she left. At first, Frank thought he would get used to it, but as the days passed, he found himself struggling. Instead of getting used to her absence, it felt like someone had carved a hollow space in his chest. Her departure had left him with an unshakable sense of loss.
When she was around, he used to find her constant chatter annoying at times. Now, the silence was deafening.
Just then, Shane walked in. Noticing the deep frown on Frank's face, he cleared his throat carefully before speaking in a cautious tone. "Mr. Castro, Ms. Davila is here."
Lea?
Frank frowned. He had always been sure of his feelings for her, but now, he felt muddled. What once seemed certain had unraveled into something he could no longer define.
Maybe in the past, it had been nothing more than youthful obsession—a stubborn attachment fueled by years of separation.
