Chapter 24
I did not open the door, so I did not see the anticipation on his face.
I smile as usual and asked, "So?"
"Caroline, be with me once more."
I opened my mouth to refuse him but he received a sudden phone call and left.
I stood in front of the floor-length window weakly. Dixon was wearing a light tan coat. His back was facing me as he stood straight and tall. He was just as lovable and likable as he had been many years ago.
He got into his car and left hurriedly.
I closed my eyes and returned to bed. Henry called me just as I sat down.
He asked concernedly, "How have you been recently?"
