I'd never played this piece in public, or it would be more accurate to say that I had not touched this piece since the death of my parents. I lacked the courage and it was a way for me my subconscious self to escape reality.
This might be the last lesson I had with them and thus I treated this piece as my parting gift to them. By offering them my most precious memory, I hoped they would remember that they once had me as a teacher.

The song was etched into the depths of my memory as recollections flooded my mind; memories of the mesmerizing notes of that man's piano and his mellow voice calling out 'little miss' replayed in my head. I closed my eyes and allowed my fingers to take control of the keys as the music flowed from my piano, just like how it had once flowed from his.
