Chapter 132
Dixon had not been duly updated on the discord between Quincy and the Shaw family. Thus, he had naively believed that marrying Quincy would heal me.
Quincy barely knew him. Why would she marry him?
It was only because Quincy was fully aware of our relationship.
She wanted to separate us, even if it meant sacrificing her own marriage.
"I'll make sure she cures your illness."
Dixon was determined. I untangled myself from his arms and gazed at him, urging, "What if she doesn't?"
He pursed his lips. "She gave a chance at least."
What chance?!
Was it the condition of marrying her?
I chuckled sarcastically, "I don't want to live on such charity."
I spun and entered my car as Dixon gripped my arm, pleading, "Caroline, come home with me."
He was referring to the Shaw family mansion.
"Dixon, let's break up."
I wanted to let go because this unending entanglement was taxing.
I was weary of being hurt by him time and time again.
Especially when he claimed it was all for my own good.
